Support

This newsletter is a labor of love.

But it does have expenses.

These are our current operating costs:

Monthly Operating Costs

  • Newsletter hosting: $39

  • Zoom Pro: $15

  • Otter AI Transcription: $17

  • Promotion: $80

  • 5 hours per week labor (1 post + admin): Donated

Currently Monthly Total: $151

Amount Needed (+10% Stripe Processing Fee): $167

During our launch months, I self-funded these expenses, in addition to donating 10-15 hours per week of labor to research and write two posts per week.

In the first four months, I single-handedly brought readers:

There are numerous blogs, forums and social media groups, but nearly all are attached to a particular brand or coach. Many censor the information and resources shared in order to funnel users to their own products and services. Leaving Teaching is different. We offer an independent space, for teachers and by teachers, to navigate everything from the job application process to the grief that often comes with leaving the profession.

There is no other publication dedicated exclusively to the teacher transition process.

If you believe in this newsletter’s mission and want to continue to see it grow, consider supporting this work by becoming a Leaving Teaching member.

Not only do members get the joy of helping this publication thrive, they also get special perks:

  • Access to exclusive discount codes for our favorite and most trusted folks working in the teacher transition space

  • Extra behind-the-scenes posts not available on the public website

  • Stickers! Mailed right to your house!

Are you ready to join and support? Literally every dollar helps. And don’t worry—if you’re not the subscribing type, you can always leave a one-time Tip Jar donation.

Not able to give at this time? No problem. There are other ways to support this work.

You can tell others what you love about Leaving Teaching when you write a short testimonial:

And even as a free subscriber, you can share this newsletter with other transitioning teachers—and earn some stickers.

Thank you for helping to sustain this space for teachers to share their stories and support each other in the transition process.
